Surround Sound Speaker Setup

surround sound setupWhether you have a full-blown media room with a theater, or you are just the regular everyday average Joe who likes to watch a good movie now and then, surround sound Speaker set up placement is vital to giving you the best theatrical experience possible in your home.

You probably wouldn’t think that Speaker placement is as vital as it is. Having each speaker positioned correctly and pointed to where it needs to be pointed, will make a huge difference in how your movies and music sounds coming out of your speakers. One of the hardest parts about installing a surround sound Speaker set up, is running the wires. Having a wireless surround sound setup is definitely the way to go, what you’re going to spend quite a bit of money to do that.

Most average households who have a surround sound setup, are using a 5.1 surround sound system. There are 7.1 surround sound systems available, but for the most part most movies do not utilize all the speakers. So if you have a 5.1 surround sound system in your home, you will have a center channel,  right front and rear channels,  left front and rear channels, and a sub woofer.

Your center channel is where 99% of the TV sounds will come from. The right left front and rear channels are what give you the full surround sound effect while the sub woofer gives you that feeling of vibration to make you feel you’re right in on the action.

It is important to make sure that all speakers in your surround sound system are pointing towards where the majority of the audience will be sitting. They also need to be positioned where they were designed to be positioned. Meaning, the center channel should be mounted directly above or below your television screen, the front left should be mounted in the same manner, and so on.

Following these basic guidelines will insure you the best possible movie experience while in your own home. Speaker quality will make a difference as well, but having it set up correctly is just as important.
