Stainless Steel Counter Tops
Stainless steel might be right for you if you are going for a modern and sleek way to spice up your kitchen without spice racks. Stainless steel is low-carbon steel which includes about 10.5 percent chromium. This allows for the counter tops to remain stainless.
Most homes use 304 stainless steel which has a high content of nickel which allows for any spot to be used for the preparation of food.
If you are planning on purchasing stainless steel counters, then there are a few things you should keep in mind. One thing you might want to be careful of is using some common household cleaning products which you use on other surfaces on your stainless steel counters. Anything containing chlorides can actually damage stainless steel counter tops. Generally when cleaning the counters made of stainless steel, soap and water are the best antidote.
If you are worried about scratches, don’t be. Stainless steel counters are tough, and scratches are almost unseen when created. If you do decide to try to remove a large scratch, or at least wear it down, then use a non abrasive pad.
If you think deep gashes or scratches might be common in your home, then you might ask a representative where you are buying your counter tops which are the best patterns for unnoticeable scratches. Remember there are all types of colors and finishes, so choose the right one for your homes decor and use.
