Before jumping into it, you may not realize that remodeling a bathroom can be the most expensive room in a home to remodel. So what do you do if you have a small bathroom and you also want to be modest with the amount of  money you spend improving it?

Well you as many others want the feel of lots of space, even when in the bathroom while taking a shower or bath. If you were dealing with an older bathroom it is possible that there is some carpeting in there. If that is the case get rid of it at once. i’m sure most of you know that nowadays thats a bad idea. Instead put some tile down in place of it.

The color of walls  is also important, since we want to give the illusion of more space even when its not there, the best type of color is soft pastel or pale colors. Then adding a few small paintings or bright pictures can add the depth needed to the bathroom. Also you might consider towels and clothes which are used for decoration to be dark and bright colors as well.

By adding shower curtains or some other barrier to the shower and bath area you might not realize you are also cutting off the visual on space for your bathroom. Instead try going for a glass clear shower door which will provide the appearance of more space in your bathroom.

While your at it, you may also consider adding a larger window to your bathroom as well since light is key to the visual effect of more space. Natural light and artificial lighting together can really go a long way. Consider improving your bathrrom lighting fixtures as well to give enhanced light with less space.
