Hydroseeding Advantages and Cost
Hydroseeding is considered one of the best ways by many experts to get your lawn to grow like it should. When comparing other methods such as the use of sod, it is about 1/4 the cost. in just a matter of weeks you will have a lot better looking lawn in most cases than if you used sod.
If your not familiar with dydroseeding, then here is how it works. Your lawn is basically sprayed with a protective covering similar to mulch. it is green in appearance so you won’t have to be worried about wether it will fit in with the rest of the lawns in your neighborhood.
A top quality turf mix is usually the best for hydroseeding. Depending on the whether and the terrain each professional who does hydroseeding will normally make a special mix for your lawn.
You may be wanting to do your own hydroseeding, but since the mixture is a slushy substance and mixture you would be paying out more than just having someone do it for you. They sell machines that can spray hydroseed on your lawn, and generally they are about $5000-20,000 in cost.
So the next question is what will it cost to have someone else do it. Generally most companies charge by the square foot to hydroseed, so you can look at paying anywhere from about 15-20 cents per square foot. The more area you have the cheaper it will be since the cost of gas and time to get setup is usually factored in.
Most larger landscaping companies should offer hydroseeding, so if you are starting up a new lawn, or need some pot treatment on an existing lawn, you may want to go with hydroseed.
