How to Clean Paste Wax Stains

paste waxPaste wax stains can be a real bugger when trying to remove it from carpet or other upholstery that is easily damaged. have no fear, we have some basic tips to help you remove your paste wax stains.

The first thing you DONT want to do is saturate the area with solvents and cleaners you have around the house. this can cause more dmage even though this may be your first inclination. Instead, you will want to blot with a clean white cloth or paper towels. The next question is, what to use to clean paste wax stains?

First get a cup of warm water, then get one teaspoon of a neutral detergent and mix them together well. Do not use bleach or alkalies. Yu may use a small amount of dry cleaning solvent to neutralize the area. then begin the blotting process.

Some people may tell you to use gasoline or lighter fluid. For this type of cleanup that is a bad idea. Instead fill up a spray bottle with the mixture of water and neutral detergant you have already mixed and mist the area. Continue the blotting process.

While this may seem like a very frustrating and time consuming process, it will be well worth it in the long run. Continue the process and occasionally add a paper towel or clean cloth down and allow it to pull up the paste wax. If you continue this process you should have most all of the paste wax out of your carpet or surface area and hopefully back to as normal color as possible.
