Maybe you have a mirror now in your bathroom that looks too plain, or none at all and want to find the best way to make it look decorative and not so plain. We have some tips that can help when adding a mirror to your bathroom.

The first thing you will have to decide is where the mirror is going. The location can make a person feel a little intrusive, or just right. Decorative is what we are going for, so making the mirror not really a mirror so to speak is what you want to go for.

The first thing and bravest thing you could do is etch your mirror. This is a great idea because it can be done on the vanity, or straight on a flat mirror, but keep in mind that it is permanent, so if you have a special mirror with some type of significance, you may want to pass. Just make sure before you begin the etching that you have the look you want before you begin.

Another option is to take that plain mirror and frame it. If you have a small mirror that is meant to cover a larger area than the mirror itself, you may want to get a large frame. Frames are great because they add texture as well as shape to a mirror. You may decide to get a custom cut frame, or even go with a rough looking wood frame to set off the squareness of your existing mirror.

A thrid option for those that want to have the ability to sow a portion of  the mirror in your bathroom is to go with curtains. These are great because they can almost make the mirror appear as a window. You can give a guest the option to completely cover the mirror if they choose. Make sure to pick the right valance for the mirror that makes it look encapsulated with the wall rather than just sitting on the wall.

There are most likely many other things you might be able to think of now that you have a few basic ideas to run with. These tips should help you to make your bathroom a bit more lively with the correct use of mirrors.
