A vinyl picket fence is a great way to give your home that country look, without having to worry about the maintenance that comes along with a wooden picket fence. Installing vinyl fencing is not as hard as you might think, and if you’re not looking to do it yourself, you can hire a professional vinyl fence installation company.

If you’re looking for a low maintenance, or even a no maintenance fence, vinyl fencing is definitely the way to go. Remember we are not talking about PVC pipe material, while we are talking about real vinyl fencing made from the same materials that you would find in vinyl siding and vinyl windows. PDC does look nice, and have quite a bit of strength, however it does not hold up to weather changes, or is not near as strong as that of true vinyl fencing. You may be able to find a PVC fence that the manufacturer may offer a nice lengthy warranty, this however does not define the quality of the actual PVC fence you are buying. So if you’re truly looking for a vinyl fence, do not settle for a PVC fence.

When shopping for vinyl fencing, the warranty should play a bigger role and whether or not you purchase a particular vinyl fence from a certain manufacturer. On average, the warranty for vinyl fencing is anywhere from 20 years to life time. A good vinyl fencing warranty should cover cracking, breaking, excess fading or even yellowing for white vinyl fences. Keep in mind that a vinyl fencing warranty will not cover extreme or external forces such as running into it with a car, or personally breaking it yourself. Vinyl fencing prices will vary quite a bit depending on quality, warranty, installation fees, and delivery.

They are made of PVC which consists of polyvinyl chloride. this substance is made in such a way that makes the fence rigid while at the same time allowing for slight bending in order to bring together an easy install and resist against the cracking which can happen with other materials over time because of the sun.

Generally legend picket fences serve more as a visual than as a guard or protection. Small animals can be kept in with this type of fence, but is not recommended for large dogs.

The great part about having legend picket fencing is that it is virtually maintenance free and has a long life span when compared to many wood types of fences.

lets cover some of the big pluses of having a legend picket fence below.

UV inhibitors which help protect against warping and fade from the sun and other elements.

A material which will not rot, rust or corrode.

A stainless steel gating system that will not rust.

post caps and variation in styles to match your home and surrounding area.

A lifetime limited warranty to give you an extra added confidence in the product.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a type of fence to enhance your home and add value to the view of your front yard while keeping unwanted visitors out of walking through your yard, then this would be the best type of fence for you with low to no maintenance.

When attempting to repair fencing, it is usually best to have help from another person, as attempting to do so by yourself may result in injury. One of the most common reasons for fence repair is the fact that the fence has started to rot and lost its stability.

Some of the basic tools you will need during a simple fence repair would be, a hammer, a circular saw, a speed square, a pencil, chalk line, shovel, and of course nails and screws. If you’re doing any specialty fence repair, you may need specialty tools such as a table saw, jigsaw or chop saw.

If you do not attempt to repair your wood fence in a quick manner, one small rotted section of your wood fence can completely bring down the rest of your fence. First you must pinpoint the exact area of the wood fence that you wish to repair. Although fixing a fence may be less expensive than completely replacing events, does not mean that it will be easy.

If it is just a fence picket that needs to be replaced, this can be done easily by simply removing the old worn out or rotted picket and replacing it with anyone of the same size. However, if it is a fence rail that needs to be replaced, this will take a little bit more time because you will need to pull all the tickets off that are attached to that are attached to that particular rail. From this point you will need to re-cut new rails to the proper size and fit them in to place. It may be a good idea to add block supports underneath each rail to help prevent the same problem from occurring again in the future.

If you need to replace a fence post, you must remove all sections of the fence are touching that post, dig it out, and replace it with a new post. Remember just because it is cheaper, does not mean that it is easy. Having an extra set of hands when working on a fence will make the work lighter, and your load easier.

There are many options when selecting a fencing product, from different kinds of wood to vinyl, plastic, and metal just to name a few. Like a foundation is the most important part to a home, the fence posts are the most important aspect of your fencing.

Fence post installation is quite labor intensive, and requires a strong back. If you have the time and motivation to do so, by all means pick up a shovel and get to work. However, hiring someone else to do the work for you is not always a bad idea either.

First you must mark out where your fence line will be. You will need one post for each corner of your yard, and then posts about every 7 1/2 feet apart along your property line. It is extremely important in fence post installation, that your posts are true, square, and level.

The toughest part by far, is actually digging the hole during fence post installation. If you are planning on building a six-foot high privacy fence, you should plan on purchasing 4×4 posts that are 8 feet tall. You should dig a hole in the ground about 8 inches in diameter, my minimum 18 inches deep. If you can go 24 inches, your fence will be that much stronger.

Using a fence post hole digger, is a good way to save some time and your back during fence post installation. However, if you want to invest the money in a post hole augur, you can dig the holes in less than half the time, with a lot less strain on your back.

Once you have the post holes dug, you will pour a little bit of dry concrete into the whole, about 2 inches worth. Next you will drop the post into a hole. While you hold the post at Square and level as possible, have someone slowly pour dry concrete into the whole evenly around the post. Once the concrete has filled a hole about halfway up, use a post-level, to ensure one final time that your post is square and level. Continue to fill the hole until it is totally full of concrete.

You can sprinkle a little bit of water on the dry concrete, but the Earth’s moisture will penetrate the concrete and dry it without the assistance of any extra water from a water hose. The longer it takes the concrete to dry, the stronger it will be. Make sure to pack the concrete around the post as tight as possible. The post should stay upright on its own and continue to remain level without the assistance of any braces. You can however add braces if you would like.

It is best to install all the post in one day, allow them to dry overnight, and then continue to build the rest of your fence the following day.
