Wind turbines are very beneficial to any home or area with plenty of winds throughout the year. Their efficiency can be called into question when they are the sole source of energy, but usually they are incorporated into specialized systems to either feed into the current power consumption or the energy is stored in high capacity batteries that can be used in an emergency or slowly dispersed into your daily power usage such as with certain lighting that you use most often or to power appliances that have smaller energy consumption needs. They are a positive way to save money and help your impact on the environment by using a renewable resource.

Obviously, areas with little to no winds throughout an average climate year will benefit the least from wind turbine installations. If an area has considerably windy climate or the turbines can be placed high enough to where they will receive larger and longer drafts of wind (high hills or mountainsides or tops of mountains) they are a very good investment towards saving money on energy costs. Plus you are going green in a society that is leaning all its efforts to help mother nature.

Taking into consideration the placement of such units and their available output at maximum efficiency, it is safe to assume that they will work at 50-80% efficiency on average. Obviously, large scale models that output megawatts of energy are designed to work with very strong winds and are only feasible for use on tops of mountains and other very high wind areas. Smaller scale wind turbines can catch smaller drafts of wind easier due to the weight of the turbines being considerably less than those used in large scale power generation.

There are even more efficient models of wind turbines that have up to a 30% increase in power output from their superior materials and power array. So it really depends on many different factors when deciding whether or not to install wind turbines in any area. Homemade wind turbines are also buildable that match or exceed the power output of commercial wind turbine energy solutions and requires a bit of engineering knowledge and approval from electricians and other officials before actually incorporating into a home or power system. It will be very rare to get 100% efficiency from any wind turbine as nature has its own course in determining how much wind any area will be receiving at any time.

With proper planning and placement, any wind turbine can be very efficient in powering a home or in smaller cases, some appliances or even just reducing energy costs. Please consider doing your part to go green whenever possible. With the combined efforts of everyone involved, a new greener earth can immerge in just a few short years.

They are ideal for those that don’t have a large amount of floor space, or for anyone that wants to add “life” to their room environment. Indoor plant hangers are also a fantastic way to add interior decorations to any room as well, and most hangers can be matched to the surroundings.

Indoor plant hangers vary in cost depending on a number of factors. Cheaper ones will cost about $10 or less, and are designed for small lightweight plants. Larger ones can cost upwards of $60, but are heavy and designed for heavy and large plants. They come in cloth, rope, plastic, brass, and other similar mediums. You can buy custom made and painted ones, or just a widely used type.

To use an indoor plant hanger it is best to purchase a sturdy bracket for a corner or ceiling. Brackets are what will ensure that your plant hanger stays rooted and doesn’t break or fall. A weak bracket or hanger can be potentially dangerous to you or your belongings, so it is important to make sure that it is sturdy and easily accessible in case of a weakening base.

The only downside to using an indoor plant hanger is that they can be difficult to reach when you need to water your plants. If you have high ceilings, this can be downright frustrating and inconvenient to do. Make sure you choose the proper placement so that you may access the plant easily if the need arises.

Of course, these hanging baskets are great for more than just indoor plants. You can use them to plant tomatoes, grapes, and a variety of other small fruits and vegetables. They are ideal for city dwellers, or anyone with a green thumb. Indoor plant hanging baskets are also easy to install. You simply place your plant inside, and install the sturdy bracket. It takes less than 10 minutes if you do it properly, and can instantly brighten up an entire room.

It is very unfortunate when you wish to use hot water in a shower or other system where waiting for cold water to run out of the pipes wastes and then finally having hot water that is difficult to get to just the right temperature needed and wastes even more water. Over time, you will be wasting a valuable resource, clean water that can be used more than just going down the drain. Using water recirculating pumps is a simple way to contribute to a cleaner earth and help reduce polluted water and water waste.

The advantages of owning a hot water recirculating pumps are great. No more waiting for hot water again! They are generally unseen and can be built into pre-existing systems. There is more than one type of recirculating pump available and your choices are not limited to a single brand. They can help you save money and ensure that you are wasting less clean water that can be used for better more efficient purposes.

Choosing the right kind of hot water recirculating pump may be something that you wish to ask a plumber about installing for you. This is not exactly an easy task for the usual do it yourself kind of person. There are types that allow you to push a button to activate the pump, to save energy and take a few seconds to move cold water out of the pipe but does not waste the water displaced as it is recirculated into the hot water tank. Other types run continuously or at a set interval to keep water hot all the time when you need it. This can be a little bit inefficient as it uses more electricity to keep the water moving. If you set up a solar panel to offset energy use, you can even save some money on energy costs and continue to have hot water at all times during the day.

These recirculating pumps will need to be installed by a professional most likely because it will be digging into and changing water lines that you might not own. This will also be dealing with water sources that may not be able to be closed normally by civilians and could cause some serious water damage to your home. Costs of this kind of upgrade may be extensive if the home is older or pipes are not easily accessible. You might even need to get permission from the city before adding such a nice energy and resource saving device.

For this reason, you may have seen an increase of recycling water bottle commercials on TV. Can you do your part to help keep plastic bottles out of landfills?

The average American recycled only an average of 23% of the plastic water bottles that they use during the 2006 year. That leaves an estimated 38 billion water bottles that were not recycled and just tossed away in landfills.

The cost of bottled water is so much more than that of filtered water you can filter at home yourself. You are paying mostly for the bottle itself the label and the lid, as opposed to the water inside. With convenience on everyone’s mind today, the amount of bottled water that Americans drink from just 30 years ago has increased over 20 fold.

It takes over one and a half million barrels of oil just to manufacture a year’s supply of bottled water. That amount of oil is enough fuel over 100,000 cars. Last year more money was spent on bottled water than mp3 players and movies.

Can you do your part to either on your amount of bottled water usage, or at least make the extra effort to make sure that your bottles do not see a landfill. Recycle plastic water bottles, and anything else plastic that you may use in your life.

Just to give you a small scenario of what impact we could make if we were just to give up plastic water bottles for one week, if everyone in New York City gave up water bottles for one week, it would save 24 million plastic bottles for making it to a landfill. Do your part, and give up plastic water bottles, or do your best to recycle plastic water bottles.
